A walk taking in the highest part of Big Bend National Park, and the high mountain forests above the Chisos Basin
High mountain trails, lots of climbs, generally well made paths
Hazards and warnings
Snakes, lack of water.
I did this walk a long time ago. I have added some photos, but I can't promise all of the photos are in exactly the right location.
In the heat of summer this is a tough, long days walking, and you'll need to be fit and well prepared, for a long, long climb, which can be punishing in the hot dry air.
