A nice spin out with a mixture of mostly off road bridalways and quiet road sections
Nothing too serious. Have done this recently with snow still around. Up hill section at Moor Rd is a bit tough
Start at railway track, easy uphill warmup until you get to the factory railings. Follw these round until you get onto the main road. Follow road until you turn off to drop down to dual carriageway and cross over. Go through the industrial estate. Take care crossing Grane Rd and carry on through industrial estate. Turn right onto singletrack walkway and follow path until you get to ford in river. Cross over bridge and follow the old railway track past the textil museum. Drop down and left and follow tarmac path until you get onto station Rd. Turn right and follow road up the hill. At the road junction you will see the White Horse pub. Follow bridalway signs up and to the left on what looks like a private driveway. At the marker stone for Holcombe Morr follow the steep uphill track until you get to the gate at the top. From here you can look back towards Helmshore, across to Scout Moor windfarm or south towards the Irwell Vale. Carry on the bridalway past farms and gates until you reach Peel Tower.
